Krispy Kreme: Free donuts on June 3, National Donut Day.

It's been a while since I went to a Krispy Kreme, but maybe this freebie will lure me in:

"On Friday, June 3, Krispy Kreme will give back to its guests by offering one FREE Krispy Kreme Doughnut on National Doughnut Day. The free doughnut offer is good for one doughnut of any variety per customer at participating U.S. Krispy Kreme retail shops."

That's posted on their Facebook wall, so maybe we'll hear more details as the day gets closer, as far as needing to print out a coupon or what have you. Hopefully, we'll all just be able to march arm in arm into our local Krispy Kreme and choose our free pastries!

Borders: 40% off coupon; 25% off entire purchase with military ID.

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, Borders is offering up one of their increasingly rare 40% off coupons. If you missed out on the 50% one-day coupons this week, this is still a pretty good deal! Pick up some holiday weekend reading or a family DVD.

Also, now through May 30, military personnel and dependents get 25% off their entire purchase - just show your military ID in-store when you check out.

Happy Memorial Day!

Borders: 50% off when you "like" them on Facebook.

Got some holiday-weekend-reading-material shopping to do? Borders is offering a 50% off coupon, good today only, on their Facebook page when you "like" them. You can either print it out or show it on your mobile device when you check out.

By the looks of this week so far, Memorial Day weekend will be spent inside, so maybe I'd better stock up on some books and chocolates...

Or you can just get 20% off your entire purchase, though May 26.

Borders: 50% off any item, 50% off a beverage, $5 bonus when you Coinstar.

Wow, you guys, Borders is going NUTS with the coupons today. Here's what showed up in my inbox:

Naturally, this stuff is all happening on the day I took off from work and my car is in for repairs, but it's good through Monday, so don't waste any time on these!

Waffle House: Free cup of coffee.

This energy bar that I'm eating for breakfast is okay, I guess, but it definitely doesn't compare to waffles and a free coffee. And that's just what you'll get when you take this coupon to Waffle House before June 3! Assuming you're lucky enough to have a house of waffles in your area, that is...

Recycle your used beauty tools, get a free EcoTools product.

I'm not sure I totally understand this campaign, but maybe it doesn't matter. EcoTools wants you to "recycle" your beauty items by mailing them in (though wouldn't it be eco-better to use those brand-new items? And I hope you'd be using recycled packaging and not buying a new bubble mailer for this!), and in exchange they'll mail you up to 2 coupons for a free EcoTools item. Personally, I'd go for the makeup brushes or other lightweight things, to avoid the hefty shipping charges of mailing them two full bottles of body wash.

"Mail in your new or used beauty item to the Choose to Live Beautifully Campaign. In return for your donated product, you will receive a coupon [valued up to $7.99; limit two coupons per person] for a complimentary EcoTools product. The “Choose to Live Beautifully” campaign partner, RecycleBank® (www.recyclebank.com), will then recycle all donated products. Now that’s beauty you can feel good about!

Examples of products to donate:

Cosmetic Brushes

Body Washes and Scrubs

Body Lotions and Butters

Hand and Heel Creams

Body Mists

Bath Sponges"

Borders: 33% off coupon.

Ugh! Sorry, folks, it's a slow week for freebies thus far. We do have a 33% off coupon at Borders, though, so at least there's that...

Facebook: Free Suave Naturals body wash or lotion.

This freebie started at midnight, but since they're giving away 100,000 free coupons, you probably still have time to get in there. "Like" Suave on Facebook and fill out the short online form to enter some sweepstakes and, more importantly, get a mailed coupon for a free full-size Suave Naturals product. Then immediately unlike them, to avoid feed bloat.

Borders: 40% off coupon.

Rarely spotted these days, but still out there in the wild: the 40% off coupon from Borders. So much for Friday the 13th being unlucky!

Mmm... sweet and salty, my two favorite snack flavors. Enjoy them simultaneously with a free sample of the ZonePerfect Sweet & Salty Bar when you "like" them on Facebook. If you're feeling generous, you can share the offer with up to three of your hungriest friends, too.

Borders: 33% off coupon.

Oh, you know, just the usual.

Did I tell you guys I finally made it to a store closing sale? I went to the Borders in Federal Way and it was.... pretty depressing. They're down to the 60-80% markdown level, so many of the shelves are nearly empty, with huge gaps and just a handful of sad-looking books. All the fun gifty items, games, and stationery are gone — there's really not much left that you'd want to buy, even at 60% off or more. In retrospect, it might have been better to go sooner when the discounts were smaller, but the selection was better.

Free Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf iced drink, 4-7 pm today.

Oh, how I wish we had a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf here in Seattle... they always seem to have the dreamiest promotions. Today from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, you can get a free 12-oz iced drink! Find a store near you.

Reminder: Today is Free Haagen-Dazs Day!

Yes, you heard me right... Free Cone Day at Haagen-Dazs has finally arrived. Get your free cone today from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.!

Free museum admission on the first weekend of the month w/ B of A cards.

I've posted this one a while back, but since it still seems to be going strong, it's time for a refresher! B of A's Museums on Us program gives free admission to participating museums, zoos, botanical gardens, and more on the first weekend of every month when you show your B of A (or Merrill Lynch) debit or credit card. (See the fine print at the bottom for all the details.)

In Seattle, that includes the Seattle Art Museum and the Northwest African American Museum; in Tacoma, that includes the Tacoma Art Museum. I think I might have a B of A card floating around somewhere, so I may have to give this freebie a try!

Borders: 33% off coupon.

You know I wouldn't leave you hanging right before Mother's Day! Get on over to Borders and get yourself a 33% discount on whatever perfect present you choose. Good through May 9, so even you procrastinators are covered.

TCBY: Free fro-yo for moms on Mother's Day.

Are you making a list of all these Mother's Day freebies? You're going to have your hands full shuttling your mom around to free breakfast at IKEA, BOGO Peet's coffee, free admission to the Seattle Art Museum, and now free frozen yogurt at TCBY.

What's next? Let's find out! Sheesh, this is almost worth having a kid for. Almost.

Borders: 33% off coupon.

Here's one last chance to swing by Borders for 33% off a Mother's Day gift! Get her that bestseller she's been talking about, treat her to a boxed set of her favorite TV show on DVD, or surprise her with some fancy smelly lotions and candles. You have until May 5 to use the coupon, so choose wisely...

Seattle: Free admission to Seattle Art Museum for moms on Mothers' Day.

I wish I had a better link to prove it to you (scroll down and check out the May 3 posts till you find it), but you'll just have to take my word for it: moms get in free at the Seattle Art Museum on Mothers' Day, May 8! Doesn't have to be your mom, as long as she's someone's mom.

*Sorry, Seattleites, no word on whether "dog moms" count.

Peet's Coffee: BOGO drinks through May 29 w/coupon.

If you're putting together a Day of Freebies for Mother's Day this year, you'll definitely want to make a stop at Peet's Coffee, where you can get BOGO drinks through May 29 when you show this coupon. Impress your mom with how well you absorbed all her lectures on the value of a dollar, and how far you can stretch your allowance — er, paycheck!

Starbucks: Half-price Frappucinos May 6-15, 3:00-5:00 pm.

If you're one of those people who starts to fade in the afternoons and could really use a jolt of sugar and caffeine to power you through to 5:00, good news: Starbucks is having a Frappucino Happy Hour May 6-15. From 3:00 to 5:00 pm, you can stop by for the half-price frappucino of your dreams.

I haven't had a frappucino in ages, but I do remember liking the super-chocolatey brownie one back in the day. If it's half-price, then it must have half the calories and fat, right?

IKEA: Free breakfast for moms on Mother's Day.

Is your mom Swedish? Does she like breakfast? Or at least mass-produced plastic home items? If you said "yes" to any of those, you might want to take her to a free breakfast at your local IKEA restaurant on Mother's Day.

Breakfast goes until 11:00 am and includes fluffy scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and a cup of hot coffee. Whether you want to treat her to a tube of prawn cheese spread from the deli after that is up to you (and your memories of childhood).
