Tomorrow is National Donut Day! And Krispy Kreme is celebrating with a FREE donut for everybody. Stop by a participating store tomorrow, June 1, and you can get a free donut of your choice, any variety.

If only more holidays involved the public giving of free donuts...

You may be too old for trick-or-treating, but you can recapture the magic of free sugary handouts if you stop by Krispy Kreme on Monday, Oct. 31, in costume. Dress in costume and get a free Halloween or pumpkin spice donut! No purchase necessary, but you may have to show them the coupon on your mobile phone. Find a store near you.

On Thursday, September 29, Krispy Kreme will celebrate National Coffee Day and its new Krispy Kreme Signature Coffee Blends by giving a FREE 12oz cup of House Blend Coffee to its guests in the U.S. and Canada. No purchase necessary... but who could blame you if you decided to get yourself a donut to dunk in that coffee while you were there?

It's been a while since I went to a Krispy Kreme, but maybe this freebie will lure me in:

"On Friday, June 3, Krispy Kreme will give back to its guests by offering one FREE Krispy Kreme Doughnut on National Doughnut Day. The free doughnut offer is good for one doughnut of any variety per customer at participating U.S. Krispy Kreme retail shops."


That's posted on their Facebook wall, so maybe we'll hear more details as the day gets closer, as far as needing to print out a coupon or what have you. Hopefully, we'll all just be able to march arm in arm into our local Krispy Kreme and choose our free pastries!

Remember, everybody, June 4 (Friday) is NATIONAL DONUT DAY! Krispy Kreme will give you a free donut of any flavor you like, and Dunkin' Donuts will hand you a free donut of your choice with your beverage purchase.

In case you thought this was bogus, let me assure you that National Donut Day is totally for real. Evidently it has its origins in WWI, when Salvation Army lady volunteers bravely fried up dough circles for Our Boys on the Front, and then the entire nation developed a taste for donuts and a tradition was born. And that's why we're all fat now.

Looks like Krispy Kreme is jumping on the free-fried-dough-circle bandwagon for National Donut Day, June 4. Stop in to any Krispy Kreme and get a free donut of any variety! No purchase necessary, but donuts and coffee are BBFs.

In addition to all the usual flavors, they have a couple of special seasonal flavors each month. We don't know what June's will be yet, but this month's flavors are Chocolate Fudge Cake and S'mores, so I'm sure they'll be sufficiently sugary and fatty.

Get a dozen free V-day cards and donuts at Krispy Kreme.

I haven't been able to verify this Krispy Kreme offer (by way of Buxr.com), but supposedly, through February 14, when you buy a dozen doughnuts, you'll get a dozen Valentine's Day cards free... and each card contains a coupon for a free single doughnut. So it's basically a BOGO, but it's valentines, too! See how that works?

Also, participating Krispy Kreme stores have heart-shaped doughnuts specially available for Valentine's Day, which your coworkers would probably enjoy more than that stale box of punctured, leaky chocolate-covered cherries. Just a thought.

This freebie is a little complicated to explain, but bear with me. When you buy a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts through Dec. 25, you'll get a dozen free gift tags, and the gift tags are actually coupons (good in January) for a free donut. Sooo, it's kind of like getting a free dozen donuts, individually. But of course you're going to share them, right?

Krispy Kreme: Free doughnuts for vets on Veterans' Day.

What better way to recognize our country's veterans than by presenting them with free Krispy Kreme doughnuts? There is none.

Free doughnut of any variety for your favorite vet (or active servicemember) on Veterans' Day. It doesn't say whether a military ID or other proof will be required, but you should probably not try to sneak your eight-year-old daughter on this one.
