Walmart is usually pretty generous with the free samples, but I haven't seen one in a while. At last! Get your free sample of Life Choice energy bars when you fill out the form. It sounds like a big commitment to call an energy bar a "life choice," but hey, whatever you need to make your to-do list look complete...

Walmart is going full bore with these in-store sampling events. The latest batch includes Quaker Lifebars, Kettle Chips, Cinnabon Bars, Frosted Mini-wheats, Pop Tarts, Hot Pockets, and more.

If this isn't a typo, then it's one heck of a free sample... stop by your local participating Walmart from 7/22 to 7/25 to get a free 11 oz. bottle of Gain dish soap. The dates and times vary by location, so make sure to check your local store to see when they'll be handing out free bottles.

Free Benefiber sample.

Fiber is important. It is! Don't look at me like that. Fiber is for people of all ages, not just old folks like myself to dunk their dentures in for a night-time snack. See, Walmart believes me: fiber is hip and they want you to try a free sample!

Benefiber is orange-flavored, which should make it more pleasant than regular fiber powder, and they claim you can sneakily mix it into all kinds of things - coffee, yogurt, juice, or any cooked or baked items. I'm pretty sure I would notice if my coffee suddenly became gritty and citrusy, but what the hey, maybe I'll give it a whirl.

Olay Total Effects Body Wash sample.

Walmart.com brings you another free sample - this time for Olay Total Effects Body Wash. You'll have to make your own determination about the efficacy of a product that promises "younger-looking skin on your entire body," but the free sample should at least strip away three or four years, right?

Virgin Mobile Slash $29 at Walmart.com.

OK, I know this may not be relevant to you fancy iPhone and BlackBerry owners, but Walmart has a special deal on the pay-as-you-go Virgin Mobile Samsung Slash. It's $29 + $0.97 shipping, which is a remarkable discount off the $79 price tag on Virgin's website.

If you're holding out for the texter-friendly XTC or Rumor2, I bet there will be holiday markdowns a-coming, so hang in there.
