Denny's: Free Pancake Puppies Sundae w/purchase.

OK, this is an actual offer, but I'm mostly posting it because it grosses me out. First Denny's introduced something called Pancake Puppies, which sounded more or less like an excuse for dousing donut holes in syrup and having them for breakfast. Now they've taken it one step further and created the unholy beast that is the Pancake Puppies Sundae. That would be donut holes shivering atop a bowl of ice cream, doused in hot fudge and whipped cream.

They're also advertising their new $2/$4/$6/$8 value menu. You get your free sundae when you order an item off that menu, or just any old entree. PANCAKE PUPPEHS!

Endless fries and pancakes at Denny's.

It's like a hobo's dream come true: when you purchase any Denny's entree valued at $2.50 or more (and is there one that costs less?) that includes fries or pancakes, they will endlessly, patiently, tirelessly refill those pancakes and fries FOR FREE until you explode.

I can't tell you how long it's been since I ate at a Denny's, but I do enjoy the ritzy sophistication of the fries served upright in a soda glass. Clearly they're making some changes, and I want to be riding the crest of this free-pancake wave.

Don't forget, hungry folks: Denny's is doing the Free Grand Slam offer tomorrow, Feb. 9, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. I've heard that this immensely popular promo leads to lines around the block and hours-long waits, so it's up to you to decide whether it's worth the time investment to get your pancakes and bacon hastily slapped together by a panicked short-order cook.

Enterprising hobos could probably work the line with a stack of Real Change and earn enough from bored cheapskates to BUY their own damn breakfast.

Hobos and students, listen up! Denny's is ambitiously repeating their Free Grand Slam promo offer next Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Apparently, this too ties in with that sporting game thing on television that is happening this weekend, whatever it may be.

Denny's is brave, considering the vast string of failures that chain restaurants have had in the past year or so with free-food promos, but I guess they know their demographic. Have fun waiting in line with the derelicts.

Here's a word-association game: if I said "Peppermint Pancake Puppies" to you, which of these would you think of?

a) The hot new toy for tween girls this holiday season.
b) My drag queen name.
