L.A. County residents, the 3-day free pass offer from Metro is back! Just fill out the request form to get your free pass in the mail. Good for Metro bus and rail travel all over L.A. County for 3 days - sounds like a deal to me...

L.A.: Free Metro 3-day bus pass.
Here's a nice freebie if you live in Los Angeles or if you plan to be visiting in the near future: an offer for a free 3-day Metro pass. Just fill out the form and they'll send you a pass in 3-4 weeks. That includes free travel on nearly 200 bus and train lines all over LA County, so it could be a good excuse to see more of the city, too.

All-you-can-fly for $599 with Jet Blue.
So this is a new kind of promotion - at least, I've never seen anything like it before. JetBlue is running an "all you can fly" special: you pay $599 and fly as much as you want from September 8 to October 8, 2009.
There are a few catches, but mostly (it seems) just to prevent system abuse. You need to be a member of their miles program, and if you're a no-show on any of your scheduled flights, they suspend your pass and you have to pay a $100 "I'm a jerk" fee. You can only book one flight per city per day, three or more days in advance, but you can change/cancel flights for free until three days before your flight.
It sounds like potentially a pretty great deal, especially if you were already planning on taking a trip during that time and could apply those funds toward your pass. Of course, you need to live near an airport that JetBlue services, and there aren't that many. And it says the pass is good for "any available seat," which makes me think they set aside a certain number of seats per flight for this offer and no more, so you might want to check availability before committing. But if you don't have anywhere in particular to be during September, this could be your way of stamping the biggest damn carbon footprint of your life across America's pretty face.

Free in-flight wi-fi with GoGoinflight.
The one thing I didn't like about my recent flight on Virgin America was that they were charging like $10 for wi-fi access while on the plane. Seriously? $10? That just seems like... a lot.
If you're flying between now and August 31, though, you can get FREE wi-fi on any plane that uses GoGoinflight. Here's how:
"While on board, select the Gogoinflight network on your computer. Next, go to a (any) website to get to the gogoinflight page. Create a new account with gogoinflight.com. When you arrive on the payment page, enter the promotional code: 159flt3161."
Then you can watch your OWN movies on Netflix, instead of paying $8 a pop to the airline.

SoCal residents: Free Metrolink tickets.
Southern CA peeps, sign up here to get four free Metrolink tickets! That's two free round-trip tickets per registration.
I just signed up for it (hey, I have friends in SoCal, we use Metrolink sometimes) and it doesn't appear that you have to live in southern CA to sign up, so if you're feeling generous and you have Cali friends, maybe you can sign up and mail them the tix when you get them. Or use them on your next visit!
