I hope they still have IKEA when I'm retired, because I fully intend to go there and enjoy all their free breakfast promotions and sit in the cafe all day getting free coffee refills. This one is for Presidents' Day Weekend: stop in before 11:00 am and get yourself a free plate of bacon & eggs and some coffee. No coupon required.

Did you know that IKEA offers free breakfast until 11:00 am on Mondays*? My grandma lives pretty near an IKEA. If I were retired, I would go there every Monday just to eat free breakfast and hang out... and maybe do some speed dating.

IKEA BYOF (Bring Your Own Friends) giveaways, free food, more.

IKEA is trying out something new next Saturday, Jan. 14. It's called BYOF (Bring Your Own Friends) and they're doing all kinds of free goodies and giveaways when you RSVP on Facebook.

RSVP to get a coupon for a free small breakfast before 11:00 a.m., a free blue tote bag, and BOGO free entree between 11am-4pm. They’re also going to be doing gift card giveaways and more.

Sounds like a full day of IKEA fun!

IKEA: Free breakfast for dads on Father's Day, June 19.

IKEA offered free breakfast for mom on Mother's Day, so it's only fair that they're kicking down free breakfast for dads on Father's Day, June 19. Thrifty dads will enjoy fluffy scrambled eggs served with a side of hash browns, scrumptious bacon, plus a hot cup of coffee.

One free dad per table, so plan your checkout-line groupings accordingly. 

IKEA: Free breakfast for moms on Mother's Day.

Is your mom Swedish? Does she like breakfast? Or at least mass-produced plastic home items? If you said "yes" to any of those, you might want to take her to a free breakfast at your local IKEA restaurant on Mother's Day.

Breakfast goes until 11:00 am and includes fluffy scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and a cup of hot coffee. Whether you want to treat her to a tube of prawn cheese spread from the deli after that is up to you (and your memories of childhood). 

Free IKEA breakfast Nov. 26-28.

Ready for that all-day shopathon of holiday weekend sales? Start it off by fueling up at IKEA with a free breakfast, Nov. 26-28. That includes bacon, eggs, potatoes, and a small coffee.

See your local store for details; the Seattle (aka Renton) store is participating for the entire promo period, but I'm assuming regular breakfast hours apply.

IKEA: BOGO chocolate cake, free dine-in meal with $100 purchase.

IKEA has some tasty-sounding special offers going right now... first, through Nov. 5, there's a BOGO dessert offer when you buy one slice of "chocolate overload cake" for $2.99. Then, Nov. 11-14, there's an even sweeter deal: dine in the restaurant at your local IKEA store and deduct your restaurant receipt total from any home furnishings purchase over $100.


As always, they encourage you to check with your local store to see if it's participating; I couldn't find any confirmation on the Seattle/Renton IKEA homepage, so you may want to call ahead. Although their cafeteria is so cheap that it's going to take a whooole lot of Swedish meatballs to cancel out the price of that SNORJBLARF bookcase.

Free IKEA breakfast, May 29-31.

IKEA is celebrating Memorial Day with free breakfast in their cafes (scroll down). The freebie includes one small bacon-and-eggs breakfast as shown, plus a free small coffee.

Seattleites, our Renton store will be serving up free breakfast from 9:00 to 11:00 am each day. I've eaten in their cafe and it's actually pretty good, so I'm guessing free breakfast would be just fine too. It's up to you whether you want to reward them by buying some 99-cent FJELKSTORN flowerpots afterward.

IKEA: Free breakfast January 9-10 + sale.

Just in case you didn't get enough crowded, stressful, bargain-seeking shopping experiences last month, IKEA is offering a big sale this weekend, including free breakfast for all! At the Seattle store, they're serving a free breakfast plus free coffee until 11:00 am.

Last time I was at IKEA, they were having a 99-cent meatball dinner special, which I took advantage of and was pleasantly surprised by. So I would imagine that their free breakfast would be just as good. I mean, you can't even buy the ingredients for 99 cents, to say nothing of having magic Swedish elves to cook it and do the dishes for you!

IKEA: The IKEA Sale starts Dec. 18.

The IKEA sale starts today! I know, the very mention of IKEA during the holiday season sends chills down your spine, but speaking as someone who spent pretty much all of last Saturday there, the holidays are an oddly tranquil time to go. Shoppers are all off at more gift-oriented department stores buying presents - not too many people exchange FJELSENLAKK dressers for Xmas. So it was surprisingly uncrowded and low-key, even for the $1 meatball special in the cafeteria.

There are also one-day-only specials starting Dec. 26, but by then there probably will be bloodthirsty bargain-hunting crowds. Still, if you have clumsy New Year's guests, you can't beat 25-cent champagne glasses.

IKEA: $1 meatball meal.

Earlier this week, I posted about IKEA's Black Friday sale, but they have a new offer out that's good on November 27 only: $1 meatball madness!

IKEA is crazy enough on a regular weekend day, so I can't even imagine what Black Friday looks like there. Probably like Hell on earth, I would imagine. If you're foolhardy enough to attempt it, here's what you can expect to get:

Going to IKEA is an all-day project, so you should start off by fueling up so you'll have enough energy to stagger through the endless displays of 99-cent spatulas and bath rugs. Looks like the offer is good for bacon, eggs, potatoes, and a cup of coffee, and it doesn't look like you need to print out a coupon or anything. Check your local store for details on the offer and the hours they're serving, though, as that often varies from location to location.
