Entertainment books on sale for $10.40.

Did you do your taxes over the weekend and get them mailed off, like a good citizen? Or did you e-file yours months ago and forget all about the April 15 deadline? Well, either way, you can celebrate along with Entertainment.com, which is having a Tax Day sale: all of their coupon books are just $10.40. Get it? 1040? OK.

The books are normally about $35, so this is quite a discount, and the coupons will be good through November 1, so you have all summer to enjoy big savings on restaurants, parks, museums, zoos, sports games, theaters, and more. One of my favorite coupons in there is the full sheets of $2-off-movie-tickets discounts, which are great for groups. But at the new lower price, the book will pay for itself the first time you use a 2-for-1 restaurant coupon... and then everything else is the free cherry on top.

As far as I can tell, the Tax Day sale may only be good today (4/16), so snap it up!

50% off Entertainment Books, this week.

My beloved Entertainment Books are 50% off this week for all cities, making most of them just $17.50! Better yet, it will encourage you to be social and generous, since many of the offers are BOGO discounts for restaurants, museums, zoos, performing arts venues, and outdoor activities.

I think my favorite discounts in the book are the pages of $2-off movie theater coupons, though. That's enough to take a bit of the sting out of a 3-D showing and make a regular ticket seem almost reasonably priced.

Borders closing sale: Everything now 60-80% off.

It's time for the next round of markdowns in the Borders closing sale: everything is now 60-80% off. (As I walked past the downtown Seattle store this morning, the signs still said 50-70% off, but maybe they're changing the signage today.)

I have to tell you, it's getting pretty depressing in there, between the picked-over shelves and the sorry-looking new merchandise that the liquidators brought in to make the shelves look fuller. But if you're on the hunt for bargains, it's finally getting to steal-of-a-deal markdown levels, so good luck...

Borders closing sale: Everything now 30-50% off.

Just got another update from Borders on its liquidation sale markdowns. Now everything in the store is 30-50% off, including:
  • 30% off children's books, toys, games, mysteries, thrillers, sci-fi, cooking, travel, music, and more
  • 40% off biography, health, pets, general reference, literary fiction, self-help, and more
  • 50% off politics and law, culture, crime, romance, philosophy, business, performing arts, Blu-ray, and more
Now that's what I'm talking about. Finally the discounts are starting to look like, you know, an actual sale. I'll be heading over there today!

Borders closing sale: New markdowns, up to 40%.

For those who are keeping a death watch on Borders' closing sale, I just got an email with this update about new markdowns:
  • Audiobooks, e-readers, DVDs, thrillers, cooking, sci-fi, history, religion, and more are 25% off
  • Diet, nutrition, biography, self-help, reference, humor, and more are 30% off
  • Crime, business, philosophy, performing arts, romance, and more are 40% off
  • Blu-ray now 50% off
Looks like everything in the store is now at least 25% off. Liquidation sales are a delicate dance - you want to wait until the discounts are good enough to be worth it, but not wait so long that everything is picked clean and the good stuff is gone. I might wander over there today just to see how things are looking - have you scored any bargains at the sale?

Entertainment.com books now $9!

Wow, the prices just keep getting better and better. You can now get a 2011 Entertainment Book for just $8.99! Shipping is free, but a little slow, so order soon if you want to get the most use out of your books; the coupons inside are good through November.

These things are so cheap now that it will pay for itself the first time you use a coupon, and then it will be months of savings ahead! I'm excited to use the BOGO zoo and aquarium coupons in there, and maybe a museum or two. What summer stuff would you like to save on?

Borders: 30% off coupon.

Borders has a 30% off coupon good this holiday weekend. If you're traveling for the holiday, now might be a good time to stock up on some vacation reading... or an audiobook or DVD to keep unruly passengers quiet on those gridlocked highways.

HAVE FUN YOU GUYS! #notgoinganywhere

Entertainment.com books now $10.

Entertainment Books are a good deal any time of the year, but especially now, when summer's in full swing, there are months of good weather ahead for outdoor activities, and the coupons are good through November. All books are now just $9.99 on sale.

Inside you'll find tons of BOGOs to restaurants, cafes, zoos, museums, plays, ballets, local sightseeing attractions, and other activities. Plus they have additional printable discounts online, and now I guess even a mobile app so you can show your discounts (no worries if you forget the coupon at home!).

If you don't have a 2011 one yet, or if you're taking a summer trip somewhere else, these are definitely worth checking out. One BOGO dinner and the book pays for itself, and then the rest is savings gravy.

Free museum admission on the first weekend of the month w/ B of A cards.

I've posted this one a while back, but since it still seems to be going strong, it's time for a refresher! B of A's Museums on Us program gives free admission to participating museums, zoos, botanical gardens, and more on the first weekend of every month when you show your B of A (or Merrill Lynch) debit or credit card. (See the fine print at the bottom for all the details.)

In Seattle, that includes the Seattle Art Museum and the Northwest African American Museum; in Tacoma, that includes the Tacoma Art Museum. I think I might have a B of A card floating around somewhere, so I may have to give this freebie a try!

Seattle: Free admission to Seattle Art Museum for moms on Mothers' Day.

I wish I had a better link to prove it to you (scroll down and check out the May 3 posts till you find it), but you'll just have to take my word for it: moms get in free at the Seattle Art Museum on Mothers' Day, May 8! Doesn't have to be your mom, as long as she's someone's mom.

*Sorry, Seattleites, no word on whether "dog moms" count.

Seattle: KCTS-9 sidewalk sale.

Attention, public television nerds: KCTS-9 is having a sidewalk sale this Saturday, from 8:00 am to noon. They'll have DVDs, CDs, books, gifts, furniture, equipment and more. Cash and checks only, and all sales are final.

Having volunteered during pledge drives for public broadcasting in the past, I personally know how much swag they have lying around all over the place: not just the surplus mugs and tote bags from fundraisers, but also boxes and boxes of advance CDs and promotional items that get sent to them in hopes of being featured on the air. So if you like a bargain, and public TV, and getting up early, this could be a treat! They'll also offer guided tours of the KCTS studio and refreshments on the set of their cooking show. Fun!

(Thanks, Tiffany!)

Borders: 20% off your whole purchase, April 23 only.

Borders is mixing it up with a slightly different one-day coupon good on Saturday, April 23. Get 20% off your entire purchase when you show them the coupon.

Borders: 33% off coupon.

Happy Earth Day, everyone! Although this might be the opposite of an Earth Day freebie, in that you're printing out a paper coupon to drive to a store to buy a book made from trees or a CD/DVD of earth-choking plastic. Hmm.

Well, at least you can save 33% off!

Borders: 33% off coupon.

The flurry of store closing emails has died down, so I'm assuming that our Lynnwood and Federal Way stores are either completely closed or they're down to a few dusty fixtures. Still, you can get 33% off at any of the regular, still-open stores.

Did anyone score any major bargains at the closing sales? I have to admit I was too lazy to bother going. I suspected by the time the discounts were really amazing, all the good stuff would be long gone... and you can't beat $1/book at the library book sale.

Borders: 40% off coupon.

Seeing as I finally filed my taxes and I'm due for a small refund, I'm already looking around for ways to spend it. Money burns a hole in my pocket before I even get it! At least my refund dollars will go further with a 40% off coupon at Borders. Good through Apr. 18, so there's still time to pick up a copy of "Taxes for Dummies."

Borders: 33% off coupon.

Even if you can't make it to one of Borders' store closing sales to pick up the 50% off coupon, you can still enjoy a 33% off coupon, which is only 17% inferior. That's not bad, right?

Entertainment.com books $15.

As we go through the year, those Entertainment coupon books just keep getting cheaper and cheaper - and now they're just $15 for all books. I don't buy them at full price, but if you keep an eye out, you can get a good deal on them, and they really do pay for themselves right away.

Here in Seattle, just one BOGO ticket to the zoo or the Museum of Flight will cover that $15 purchase price, and everything else is a bonus! I also really like the discounted movie ticket coupons, which have saved me and my friends quite a few pennies throughout the year. You can even preview the discounts online if you want to be sure that a favorite restaurant or attraction is included.

Borders: 33% off one item.

You know I wouldn't leave you hanging without a Borders coupon for 33% off, just in case you thought of a book, CD, DVD, or gift item you needed! Or if you don't feel like waiting around for the Borders store near you to have a closing sale, I guess.
