Seattle: Free $10 gift card for filling out a Seattle Times survey.

Hey Seattle! Go to the Seattle Times website and look in the upper-right-hand corner, where it says "Take a survey." (You might have to close out that obnoxious Restaurant Week scrolling ad first.)

You can get a $10 gift card to Bartells, Fred Meyer, or Macy's for filling it out! Takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Free Kerrygold cheese when you take a survey.

Have you guys had Kerrygold cheese? I really like the Dubliner flavor - it's sharp and creamy and excellent just by itself. So that's what I'll be getting with my coupon for a free Kerrygold product. Just take their short cheese survey and there's a signup form at the end so they can mail you a coupon. Say cheese!

Get cash or Amazon gift certificates with Opinion Outpost.

It's been a while since I talked about Opinion Outpost (full disclosure: that's my referral link), so I thought I'd mention it for newer readers who may not have seen it, or other survey sites, before.

Basically, it's a survey site that's free to join, and you can earn cash, Citi gift cards, OR Amazon e-certificates (which are redeemable instantly and are my favorite). You earn points for completing surveys - and a small number of points if you try but are ineligible. A typical survey might take 15 minutes to do and get you 20 points, or $2, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up pretty quickly. They tailor the survey invitations you get to your lifestyle and interests, and sometimes you get to do fun things, like test beauty products or food and give them feedback on how you liked them.

There are plenty of other good survey sites besides Opinion Outpost out there if you look for them, many that pay in cash. Note: a legitimate site will never charge you to join up, will explain its rewards system clearly, and won't require you to participate in any "special offers" or "premium memberships." If you're going to waste time in front of your computer, you might as well be making money, right?

Information: The bread survey is for real!

Last week I posted about the survey you could get two loaves of bread for taking. I took the survey, and I'm pleased to say that I already received my free bread coupons! I also got a handwritten thank-you note from their marketing manager and her business card, which is shaped like a little loaf of bread and makes me want to be a baker so I can have cards like that.

Anyway, if you were dubious about this offer, let me assure you that it is real - now I just have to track down a place that carries this fancy hippie bread. The only catch is, they only send you coupons if you live in a state where they stock their products, i.e. Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and northern California. If you're a lucky resident, though, go take the survey!

Take a survey, get 2 loaves of bread.

This intriguing offer got dropped off in the HTN inbox... take a survey and get coupons for two free loaves of bread. The survey is very short and just asks you about your favorite brands and what's most important to you in a bread product. One survey offer per household.

I gave it a try, so I'll let you know if I open my mailbox one day and two piping-hot, fresh loaves of bread come tumbling out.

Opinion Outpost: Earn cash or Amazon credit for surveys!

It's been a while since I mentioned Opinion Outpost (that's my referral link), so I thought I'd talk about them again since we're going into the holidays. No, I'm not an official spokesperson or anything, but I noticed today that I've made $85 so far through them, which isn't too bad for killing time on the Internet! And I'll be cashing out to do some Xmas shopping pretty soon, you betcha.

Basically, it's a survey site that's free for anyone to join, and you can earn cold, hard cash - OR Amazon e-certificates, which are redeemable instantly, a pretty awesome new development (previously, you had to wait and they would mail you a check, which you can still do if you want the cash). You earn points for completing - or partial points for being disqualified from - surveys, and if my shaky math works out, it's about $0.10 per point. So a typical survey might get you 20 points, or $2, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up pretty quickly and they're easy to polish off in a couple of minutes while you're waiting on hold or whatever.

There are plenty of other good survey sites besides Opinion Outpost out there if you look for them, many of which pay in cash. Just remember, a legitimate site will never charge you to join up, will explain its rewards system clearly, and won't require you to participate in any "special offers" or "premium memberships." If you're going to waste time in front of your computer, you might as well be making money, right?

Earn $$$ for surveys! No, really.

I know, I know, but I'm not following that up with "EARN $20,000/MONTH AT HOME CALL ASK ME HOW," so you know I'm legit here. I belong to several survey sites, where they send you invitations to participate in online surveys in exchange for cash or rewards points. My favorite, e-rewards.com, has gotten me more free magazine subscriptions and movie rentals than I can shake a stick at, but you have to be invited to join by a partner company.

However, Opinion Outpost (that's my referral link) is free for anyone to join, and you can earn cold, hard cash, which is arguably just as good. You earn points for completing (or partial points for being disqualified from) surveys, and if my shaky math works out, it's about $0.01 per point. So a typical survey might get you 20 points, or $0.20, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it adds up pretty quickly and they're easy to polish off in a couple of minutes while you're waiting on hold or whatever. I've cashed out $50 so far from the site, which isn't too shabby.

There are plenty of other good sites out there if you look for them, many of which pay in cash. Just remember, a legitimate site will never charge you to join up, will explain its rewards system clearly, and won't require you to participate in any "special offers" or "premium memberships." Free ShamWows when you complete a survey.

Admit it, you've always been curious about ShamWow, haven't you? Wouldn't you secretly like to try one if you could have it for free? WELL NOW YOU CAN. And all you have to do is fill out a short li'l survey!

I admit, the down-home, folksy tone of the survey page sent up a little red flag ("You don't pay a cent, not even for Shipping and Handling! We don't ask for any credit card information or any nonsense like that"), but I checked out their privacy policy and terms of use and it doesn't appear that they store or sell your personal information. Just remember to uncheck the box so you don't get their email newsletter, and sit back and relax while you wait for your free ShamWows to be sent to you.
