Just in case you thought cupcakes and/or bacon were finally over... NOT SO FAST! Cupcake Royale just whipped up some Bacon Whiskey Maple cupcakes as their March flavor of the month, and they want you to enjoy a free one with any beverage purchase this weekend. (It does say "coffee," but they're pretty lax about letting you buy any old drink.)

Mark your calendars, Seattle cupcake lovers: the legendary Cupcake Royale Deathcake (some sort of ultra-chocolatey Valentine's day confection) is back, and you can sample it for free on Feb. 3 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm! Visit the Capitol Hill or Bellevue locations to sample the cake and Stumptown coffee, and watch cake-frosting demonstrations. I may just have to stop by on my way home that day...

Seattle: Free Velvet Elvis cupcake at Cupcake Royale.

New Year's resolutions be damned! Cupcake Royale wants you to cram one of their Velvet Elvis cupcakes (banana, chocolate, and peanut butter) into your face this weekend for FREE (with the purchase of a beverage). Just print out the coupon or show it on your mobile device, and you're good to go.

'Tis the season for a free eggnog or rum-ball cupcake from Cupcake Royale! It says coffee, but they are understanding of the fact that not everyone's a coffee person.

But which one to pick? It's like Sophie's Choice! My solution is to take a friend with you, and then you can each get one flavor and share.

If you're more of a Trophy Cupcake person than Cupcake Royale, fear not: Trophy is also giving away free cupcakes this weekend! is giving out freebies at its Eastside location (The Bravern, 700 110th Ave., Bellevue) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 6.

It's Trophy's first Fan Appreciation party; in addition to free cupcakes, there will be balloons and a chance to win prizes. Owner Jennifer Shea will also give cupcake decorating demonstrations.

Cupcake Royale knows it's huckleberry season, and to celebrate, they want to give YOU a free cupcake now through Monday, Sep. 6! Well, free with a beverage purchase, that is (but still a pretty good deal).

You used to have to print these out, but the people have spoken and Cupcake Royale listened, so now you can just show the coupon on your mobile device and not have to print out a dumb piece of paper that they'll just throw out anyway.  Hooray for freecycling!

This month's special is the Chocolate Scorcher... I'm not sure what that means, but I intend to find out. VERY SOON.

Cupcake Royale: BOGO Roseanne Cash tix w/purchase.

I'm a little confused about this offer because of how it's worded, but I think it explains how cupcakes are your gateway to free music. Rosanne Cash, Johnny's eldest daughter, will be playing the Moore Theatre on May 1 as part of NPR's All Things Considered. AND "if you a buy a cupcake from any Cupcake Royale location from Friday, April 16, through Sunday, April 25th, you can bring a friend to the show for free."

Looking at their Facebook page, that seems to mean that Cupcake Royale is selling tix to this event directly, and with the purchase of a cupcake, you can get BOGO tix to the show.

Sometimes themes seem to emerge with freebies, and today's theme seems to be "music events in Seattle." So, uh, sorry, everybody else... we'll get you tomorrow.

Cinnabon: Free mini cupcakes on April 15.

Cinnabon is declaring that "Tax Day Bites," and is marking the dread occasion with free mini cupcakes for all. Stop by your participating Cinnabon to pick up your two free Cupcake Bites from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. But only after you've dropped that tax return in the mail, of course!

If your love of cinnamon buns has you waxing poetic, you can also participate in their essay contest for a chance to win a $100 gift card. Just tell them why your life needs Cinnabon frosting in 500 words or less, and the prize could be yours.

Again, no April Fool's joke, Seattleites... when you become a fan of Cupcake Royale on Facebook, you'll get a coupon for a free lemon mascarpone cupcake w/coffee purchase. Once you're a fan, go to their Wall Photos and it's #63 of 64, or just scroll down their wall until you see the coupon thumbnail. Then print that sucker off and use it before April 4!

I do know some cupcake-lovers who are non-coffee-drinkers, so hopefully they'll be cool about letting you substitute tea, a carton of milk, etc. for that coffee.
