This is such a counterintuitive freebie offer that I almost don't believe it's real, even though I'm looking at the official Cost Plus website. The deal is, you spend $100 at Cost Plus's website today, August 28, and tomorrow, you'll receive a confirmation email telling you how to book your BOGO flight reservation. I don't know, I just don't get the connection. Buy a new fridge and get a dentist's chair for free! Buy 50 lbs. of hair and get a Cinnabon for free!

As you might expect, there are the inevitable restrictions. You have to make your $100 purchase today, and then the free companion ticket offer is only good for the next 30 days. It's valid on 19 airlines, going to 107 cities, but you both have to be on the same flight and it has to be round-trip. So if you were planning on going somewhere anyway and the cost of the ticket would be more than $100 per person, you'll come out ahead - and have some handmade artisanal home decor, too. But make sure you read the fine print before splurging on that fainting couch you've been eyeing.
